The Lucid Air which will soon launch in the US will have a whopping 653 km range. This is the range on the standard edition. The Dream Edition which is coming out first that range exceeds 800 km to 832 km.  This car was engineered by former Tesla Model S chief engineer Pete Rawlinson.

The Tesla Model S is available in two variants in the international market namely Long Range and Plaid. The Long Range has an estimated range of 664km while the Plaid is expected to travel 627km on a single charge. Each model features all-wheel-drive as standard. Model S will arrive in the country probably by early 2022.

Rivian R1T Pickup truck

Rivian R1T Pickup truck is a 5-passenger pickup truck powered by an impressive all-electric powertrain. Each motor has a 147 kW power capacity at the wheel and total power output different levels from 300 kW to 562 kW.

It has different choices of battery packs such as 105 kWh, 135 kWh, and 180 kWh and has ranges of 230+ miles, 300+ miles, and 400+ miles respectively. Its top speed is 125 mph. Its payload capacity is 800kg and towing capacity is 5000kg. It is priced at $70,000.

Tesla Model 3

Tesla Model 3 available in three different variants namely Standard Plus, Long Range AWD and Performance.  It has a tinted all-glass roof. Besides, it is 4,694mm long and has a 2,875mm wheelbase.

The Tesla Model 3 is the company’s most affordable model and will likely be the first model introduced in the India market. It has already been speed testing on Indian roads. It is available with single and dual motor options.

The Standard Plus model has a single motor that drives the rear wheels. This version has a claimed range of 423km. Long Range AWD comes with an increased estimated range of 568km. Performance version can achieve a 0 to 100kmph time in 3.4 seconds and has an expected range of 506km. It also gets an all-wheel-drive system. This sedan could launch in India by the end of this year or in early 2022.

Tesla’s line-up also consists of the Model S sedan and the Model X SUV. The carmaker is yet to officially confirm which of its offerings it will launch and when.

Porsche Taycan

Taycan is a 750 horsepower sports car that takes full advantage of the performance potential offered by electric power. It has back doors too.  It is 18 inches longer than a Porsche 911 Turbo, a gas-powered car with similar performance.  Taycan weighs over 1,200 pounds more than the 911 Turbo.

Taycan's motors produce an ample 617 horsepower. The brakes are particularly impressive. All-wheel-drive helps in getting higher torque. It has two electric motors, one driving the front wheels and another the back.

As per EPA tests, the Porsche Taycan delivers 362 km of the range. Independently, the car does 450 km on a single charge which is mighty impressive.

It also has smart electronics to transmit power to front or back wheels. The Taycan also has a small button in the steering wheel to turn on automatic regenerative braking.

The standard performance model gets 562 km of range while the Super Long Range model which has a bigger battery can go 706 km on a single charge.

Mercedes EQS

Daimler claims that Mercedes EQS has an impressive 770 km of range on a single charge based on the WLTP cycle which makes it quite comparable to the Tesla Model S.

Rimac Nevera has more than 1,900 bhp of power, can do 0-96.5 in 1.85 seconds and can reach 300 kmph in just 9.3 seconds and yet it can deliver a range in the realm of 549 km to 650 km.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

Hyundai's Ioniq 5 is manufactured by the South Korean giant Hyundai. The Ioniq 5 is built on its own E-GMP platform which is the basis of a practical, smart and very functional EV that gives an impressive range of up to 481 km. The Kia EV6 is also based on the Ioniq 5. Hyundai owns Kia and that car delivers a similar range with a more potent powertrain.
